VOLUNTEERING AT TERRA LINDA

Your partnership plays a vital role in creating a positive and enriching experience for our students. We have a lot of exciting things happening in the coming months and would love your support! Volunteering is a great way to get involved, meet other families and make a difference in our school community.

  1. Step 1: Login to your ParentSquare account, you’ll be directed to the Home Screen.
  2. Step 2: Tap the “…” (More) button, bottom right-hand corner of screen.
  3. Step 3: Select Sign-Ups & RSVPs, here you will find current volunteer opportunities.
  4. Step 4: Toggle between All Sign-Ups and My Sign-ups to see what you are signed up for.

Volunteer ApprovalĀ 

All volunteers need to register with Beaverton School District, no matter the type of volunteering/chaperoning you may be interested in throughout the school year. Terra Linda uses the BSDā€™s volunteer and background checking system called Raptor alongside ParentSquare to organize and sign-up for volunteer opportunities.

If you signed up last year when the new Raptor system went into effect, no further action is required this year. If you currently volunteer at a different school and have already been approved through Raptor, simply switch the school in ParentSquare to find volunteer opportunities for Terra Linda. Please note, you’ll need to resubmit your application for approval every two years. We recommend doing this process asap so it is ready when you need it.Ā  Please make sure you have registered to become a volunteer at the link hereĀ 

**If volunteers arrive and they are not approved through Raptor, they will not be allowed to volunteer/chaperone. Unfortunately, we cannot make any exceptions**

Meet Our PTC Board Members for 2026-2027

President: Sarah Verdugo
My name is Sarah Verdugo, and my husband Anthony and I are proud parents of our two daughters, Delilah, who is currently a Kindergartener at Terra Linda Elementary, and Allison, who will be joining in a few years. Professionally, my background is in product, program, and portfolio execution, and Iā€™m excited to bring those skills into my role as PTC President. In this role, I look forward to helping foster open communication, collaboration, and community between families, staff, and school leadership while supporting the important work of the PTC. Outside of school and work, I love exploring all that Oregon has to offer including the beach and the mountains, and continuing to discover more of our Pacific Wonderland.

My name is Allison DeHaan. I am an Occupational Therapist. I have three daughters in the Beaverton School District, a Sophmore (Tamaya) at Sunset, a 7th grader (Ely) at Tumwater and a 1st grader (Quinley) at Terra Linda and we have been part of Terra Linda Elementary since 2018. I am running toĀ  be Co-Secretary with Becky Seppala. We served together several years ago as the VP of Fundraising on the PTC and we have been looking to get involved again with the PTC Board to support our teachers, staff and families.Ā  I have thoroughly enjoyed chairing the Staff Appreciation Committee this past year, and coordinating the 5th grade celebrations and fundraisers for my children.Ā  I look forward to finding other opportunities to stay involved in the school community.

I’m Becky Seppala, and I share the secretary role with my good friend, and neighbor, Allison!Ā  I have been a part of TL since 2015 when my oldest child started kindergarten!Ā  I previously served on the board as Co-VP of fundraising and have always volunteered for various events; currently, I am also a co-chairĀ  for the staff appreciation committee.Ā  I especially enjoy helping with evening events because it’s always a good time when TL families come together!Ā  The Talent Show is one of my favorite nights to lead!Ā  I grew up in Beaverton, and attended BSD schools, so I find joy in helping kids have the same wonderful experience I did.

My husband, Jayme, and I have four kids–a current sophomore at Sunset, 8th and 6th graders at Tumwater, and at Terra Linda we have Leah in 3rd.Ā  Our family schedule is always crazy between both of our jobs, and our kids’ sports and activities, but we try to enjoy the chaos!Ā  We squeeze in time enjoying the Pacific Northwest–on the mountains, at theĀ beach, or on the river! We also love visiting New England each summer where we have a lot of family and friends.

I am a busy stay-at-home mom to three awesome kids: Ellie, who is in 7th grade at ACMA; Avery, in 4th grade; and Liam, in 1st grade at TL. When Iā€™m not carpooling the kids to various sports and activities, I enjoy capturing lifeā€™s moments through videography, planning our next camping adventure, or hunting down the next great restaurant. Iā€™m thrilled to be part of the PTC and canā€™t wait to help make school life extra fun for everyone!

As the proud mom of two daughters at Terra Linda Elementary, Iā€™m honored to serve as this yearā€™s PTC Treasurer. With a professional background in accounting, Iā€™m excited to apply my experience to support the financial health and transparency of our Parent Teacher Club. Iā€™m passionate about giving back to our school and community, and I look forward to working closely with parents, teachers, and staff to foster a strong, collaborative environment that enriches every studentā€™s experience at Terra Linda.

When Iā€™m not deep in a spreadsheet or volunteering as PTC Treasurer, youā€™ll probably find me in the garden, strolling the neighborhood, or chatting with someone. I believe in the power of community ā€” and that a good walk and a little dirt under your nails can bring real joy.

Hello! My name is Lauren and I am looking forward to my first year on the Terra Linda PTC Board. My husband, Jon, and I moved to Cedar Mill in 2017 and have two kiddos. Marley will be a fourth grader at Terra Linda and our son, Lucas, will start 6th grade at Tumwater this Fall. As a board member, my goal is to focus on building a positive and inclusive environment, in hopes of every parent feeling as encouraged to get involved with our wonderful school as I have over the years! When not volunteering, I enjoy spending time outside, hiking and camping, listening to live music and reading. You can often find my family rooting on the OSU Beavers or traveling any opportunity we can get! Looking froward to another great year at Terra Linda!

Iā€™m Olivia Carter! My husband Brian and I have 3 kids, Reese, Brock & Reilly. Reese is in 7th grade at Tumwater. Brock is in 5th grade & Reilly is in 1st grade. Our family has deep roots here at Terra Linda as my husband and I both attended here for elementary school ourselves. We are passionate about our community so I help serve on a few other boards as well. I have so much gratitude for our school and school community!

Rachel Stenberg

Iā€™m Rachel Stenberg, and I get the opportunity to serve as one of the Communications Co-Chairs, with my good friend Olivia Carter. My husband Stephen and I moved into the neighborhood back in 2021, and immediately fell in love with the communityā€¦Terra Linda is truly a special place! Our daughter Harper is in 3rd grade this year, and our son Henry is in 1st grade, while our third little guy, Hudson, is a future Terra Linda Tiger!

In addition to being one of your Communications Coordinators, I also help organize and execute the annual TL Harvest Party, and I love volunteering with the many other amazing school events throughout the year as Iā€™m able. Outside of getting to be involvedĀ with Terra Linda, I work at Nike as an Executive Assistant. When Iā€™m not working, you can find me coaching my kidsā€™ soccer or basketball teams (I love sports!), hosting a playdate, reading, or doing a Barre class at the SAC. Our family loves this community and neighborhood, and we canā€™t imagine a better place for our kids to go to school.

Terra Linda’s Got Talent

Come support our tigers as they take the Terra Linda stage on Friday, April 17th at 6:30!Ā  Concessions will be open from 6:00-6:30.Ā  Popcorn and water will be free, and other snacks will be available for purchase (cash or card).Ā The doors to the gym will open at 6:15, and seating is first come, first serve.Ā  The show will be over by 8:00!Ā  We can’t wait to see everyone’s hard work and creativity!Ā  Hope to see you there!

Dining For Dollars @ McMenamins

The Oak Hills McMenamins Brewpub is partnering with Terra Linda for their friends and Family night on Tuesday, April 21st, when they will generously donate 50% of ALL purchases from 5pm through closing.Ā  Gift card purchases are not eligible towards donations, but any other food or drink, including bottles of wine or growlers to go.Ā  Ā Dine in and take-out are both eligible, but please remember that third party delivery services are not included.Ā  We’re looking forward to seeing TL families there!

Terra Linda’s Got Talent

“Terra Linda’s Got Talent” is returning this year on Friday, April 17th at 6:30!Ā  We are so excited to see our Terra Linda creativity shine–dancing, singing, poetry, musical instruments, magic tricks, jokes, etc.!Ā  If you are interested in joining the fun, each student can participate in two performances (dependent on number of total entries).Ā  Each performance will be limited to 90 seconds.
Ā The only time commitment outside of school hours required to participate will be on the evening of the show itself.Ā  (Students will arrive at 5:15 to have a rehearsal prior to the 6:30 show.) Our goal is to allow students to sign up for a maximum of 2 acts that do not exceed 90 seconds each.Ā  (Depending on the number of entries received, we may need to re-evaluate the number of acts to stay within time constraints.)Ā  Once entry information is received from all students, parents will receive an email in April outlining the next steps.Ā  Students’ acts will be reviewed with Mrs. Bernard during their lunch/recess time on April 3rd.Ā  (Kindergarten will be later that afternoon.)
**Please submit one form for each student participating.Ā  For group entries, please make sure each student in the group submits a form so parent contact information and permission is received.Ā  (You can edit your form once it it’s submitted if you would like to make changes. )

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Help Make 4th & 5th Grade After School Clubs Possible – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Help make After School Clubs possible for our 4thĀ and 5thĀ graders! We have teachers, but we NEED volunteer support, and can’t do it without you!

This year, clubs will be offered after school on Thursdays from 3:00 – 3:45pm, beginning January 8th and continuing every Thursday we have school through March 19th, 2026. Student sign ups will be released contingent upon securing a sufficient number of Volunteers. We are looking for Volunteers that can commit to the below shifts by December 9th. Feel free to sign up for single shifts or multiple, if that fits your schedule!

Students and Volunteers are not expected to know anything about the topic of the club in order to participate. We will teach you! The tentative plan is as follows: Ms. Weiland & Mrs. Schrader will be the Art Club Advisor, Mr. Taporco will be the Video Production Club Advisor, Ms. Evans will be the Line Dancing Club Advisor and Ms. Gooding will be the Chess Club Advisor.

Please note, more information on after school clubs coming soon! Also, students participating in an after school club will need to be picked up by an adult, carpool or walk/bike home independently at 3:45pm. There are no buses available.

Tiger Tracks Running ClubĀ 

Weekly, Wednesdays during lunch recess!

On your mark, get set, GO…our Tiger Tracks Running Club will be starting again this September and the kids are always so excited! But we are in need of a few volunteers each week to help the kids find their cards, scan as they run laps and cheer them along the way. No running experience required and weather dependent. The kids can run, walk, skip, dance, whatever their movement of choice is around the track during their lunch recess. All laps are recorded through Marathon Kids and earn them mileage milestone prizes throughout the year!Ā 

  • K-3:Ā  10:45am – 12:00pm
  • 4-5 & SRC:Ā  11:50am – 12:50pm

We had an exciting time at the Tiger Trot, rooting on all of the students last week. They worked so hard these past few weeks gathering pledges. We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who donated and to our amazing sponsors of the Tiger Trot. The funds raised will provide so many fun enrichment activities throughout the school year and beyond. We are so grateful for this amazing Tiger community. We had a lot of interest from families wanting to order the shirts that students and staff received, so please see below for the details on how to order!Ā

Volunteering is a great way to get involved, meet other families and make a difference in our school community.

Volunteer ApprovalĀ 

All volunteers need to register with Beaverton School District, no matter the type of volunteering/chaperoning you may be interested in throughout the school year. Terra Linda uses the BSDā€™s volunteer and background checking system called Raptor alongside ParentSquare to organize and sign-up for volunteer opportunities.

If you signed up last year when the new Raptor system went into effect, no further action is required this year. If you currently volunteer at a different school and have already been approved through Raptor, simply switch the school in ParentSquare to find volunteer opportunities for Terra Linda. Please note, you’ll need to resubmit your application for approval every two years. We recommend doing this process asap so it is ready when you need it.Ā  Please make sure you have registered to become a volunteer at the link hereĀ 

**If volunteers arrive and they are not approved through Raptor, they will not be allowed to volunteer/chaperone. Unfortunately, we cannot make any exceptions**

Cub Scouts Pack 208 šŸ•ļøĀ 

Terra Linda Elementary has a long-standing tradition of interest in the Cub Scouts Program. We are starting back up the program if enough families participate. We offer scouting for boys and girls, Kā€“5th grade. We have a great group of dedicated leaders and are looking for parent volunteers to work with each grade of scouts to help get the most out of the program. Our monthly pack meetings are usually on the third Tuesday at Terra Linda Elementary during the school year. Den meetings are scheduled around each familyā€™s availability, where we work on scouting skills, crafts, enrichment, and fun activities.
