Staff Appreciation Week is May 6 – 10. In celebration, all Terra Linda students are invited to bring a flower or 2 (from the garden or the store) to the Terra Linda lobby before school on Tuesday, May 7th. The flowers collected will be made into bouquets for our wonderful, dedicated Terra Linda staff.
If you are thinking of getting a Staff Appreciation or End-of-Year gift for a Terra Linda staff member, don’t forget to check out the Wish Lists on the PTC website. There are plenty of items still available to purchase.

Our school-wide Book Exchange is rapidly approaching. We will start collecting books next week for our book exchange that is being organized by Girl Scout troop 40522 as they work to achieve their Bronze Award.
Collection bins will be placed in the lobby starting Monday, May 6th and will remain through Friday, May 17th so feel free to drop any used books that you would like to donate during that time.
We are accepting all types of books including grown-up books. The actual book exchange will take place during Bingo Night on Friday, May 17th. If you aren’t able to make Bingo Night, we will offer an opportunity for every student to receive a book at another time depending on how many books are left over. Thank you in advance for your donations and participation in the 2019 Terra Linda Book Exchange. We couldn’t do it without you!!!

We’re looking for some additional volunteers to help with our turn at the Beaverton School District Clothes Closet during the afternoon of May 8th, with flower arranging and delivery on May 7th for Staff Appreciation Week, at the Scholastic BOGO Book Fair the week of the 13th, and for those who like to plan ahead, we need over 30 volunteers on June 7th for Field Day. Also, we need some new committee chairs for the next school year.

Our Clothes Closet day on May 8th has been cancelled due to the teacher walk out. However they are in desperate need of volunteers to help sort the clothing donations during the following days and times:

It’s time to get creative for Art Blast! Our theme this year is “How Do You Celebrate Nature?!” Students are asked to make art interpreting this theme. Are you inspired by plants? Your animals? A local landscape? Capture your inspiration on paper for us!

Art Blast is the evening of Friday April 12th 6-8PM. We will display students’ work & have fun projects for them to do! If you purchased plants from our plant sale, you can pick up your items on Thurs. May 10th from 12:30-3:15 under the covered play area by the north parking lot.
If you can spare an hour please sign up to help unload and sort plants and assist people in picking up orders.

Monday – French pastries and coffee bar will be set up for staff.

Raffle tickets will also be available for $1 in the lobby. Three teachers will be awarded money. If their raffle ticket is chosen the money can be spent on classroom supplies.
Wednesday – A Taste of Italy, staff will enjoy a pizza lunch with all the fixins. Raffle tickets can be purchased in the lobby.
Thursday – English Tea will be available for staff to enjoy. Raffle tickets can be purchased in the lobby.
Friday – Nacho average teacher nacho bar will be served to our wonderful staff for lunch. Raffle prize winners will be announced.

Terra Linda Alumni, Sam Day was diagnosed with a rare pediatric cancer while he attended Terra Linda. His absence has left a huge gap in our community but his legacy still lives on through many of you!
In his honor, the Day family along with the Sam Day Foundation is hosting a 5k & 1k fun run to raise awareness and financial support for rare pediatric cancers.
